U2 FONT
 
U2 is a neo-grotesque, sans serif font that claims its form like a Universal Revival. The name evokes a well-known graphic representation from the original source - the periodic table. It translates all weights and variations within the typographic family they are, as well as the elements of a periodic table, represented by numbers. This specimen presents number two: a modern revival, a new take on Univers, a 2.0 version.

Analyzing Univers, a question arises: how does an apparently “perfect” font behave on a printing surface that not digital? The truth is that Univers "is a quality product and gives an impression of quality, regardless of the process used. They fill the impression in a crisp, uncut way, enhancing every idea that they need to convey.” (Elizabeth, 1968). U2 exploits this trait, with the addition of ink traps for a approximate, almost satirical interpretation of the previous typeface.
